THE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

In recent years, I had the privilege of working with a public official whose passion was the expansion of restorative justice within the American juvenile court system. The interviews I conducted with a number of restorative justice advocates revealed to me that public officials are becoming personally and professionally transformed by their work in this area. The revolutionizing of juvenile criminal justice, I learned, can generate profound influence beyond just the court system. My hope is to publish my fundings in articles describing the different types of transformations that I witnessed among restorative justice advocates.
